Welcome to Pocket Planet! I hope that my thoughts on the places I have seen and the things I have done might help you in your travels. The world really isn’t so big, so whether it’s a lack of money, time or get-up-and-go that’s holding you back, here you can pick up tips on how to handle the world in manageable chunks, whatever your situation. From where to go, who to go with and what to take, to how to make that big trip a reality or simply make the most of your weekends; find the places that suit your wallet, your calendar and your wanderlust. The world, made easy!

About me

I’m Lizzie, 24, born and bred in the UK, and I have a huge desire to see and experience as much of the world as physically possible. I live for it, and try to save my every penny towards it. So far I’ve visited Madagascar, Morocco, Nepal, India, Vietnam, Central America and most of Europe.

I’m currently living in Denmark’s second city, Aarhus, studying a master’s degree in Journalism, Media & Globalisation. I have fallen in love with Aarhus and the Danish way of life, and what better year to be here as the city celebrates its year as European Capital of Culture 2017. In October 2017 I’ll head to Germany, where I’ll study the second year of the degree at Hamburg University. So, life is pretty exciting at the moment.

Work with me

Pocket Planet is a relatively new blog, but as its following continues to quickly grow, I would love to begin working with travel companies that are relevant to Pocket Planet’s backpacker readership. I want to help good companies reach the right people, and in turn help my readers find the best travel companies and products for them.

If you think your company could benefit from working with Pocket Planet, please get in touch!

  1. Beauty is a primeval phenomenon, which itself never makes its appearance, but the reflection of which is visible in a thousand different utterances of the creative mind, and is as various as nature herself. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂
